Our Story — 40 Years in the Pacific Northwest

North Woods Tree Service was founded in 1986 by Daryl North in Beavercreek, Oregon — back when most of Clackamas County was rural farmland, working timber, and forested acreage. Daryl built the business on a simple idea: every job, big or small, deserves the same level of care, skill, and respect for the property. That standard has carried North Woods through nearly four decades of Pacific Northwest tree work.

We're still headquartered in Beavercreek on S Woodview Ln. We're still the same crew you'll see at the Beavercreek Grange Hall, Clarke's General Store, and at jobs across Oregon City, Lake Oswego, Portland, Sandy, and every community in between. After 35+ years, North Woods has earned its reputation the hard way — one tree, one cleanup, one happy customer at a time.

Under James's leadership, the company has grown from primarily residential tree work into a full-spectrum tree service handling everything from emergency tree removal to commercial land clearing and timber harvest — without ever losing the locally rooted, family-owned character that built the business in the first place.

With 35+ years of hands-on tree work experience across the Pacific Northwest, James leads every aspect of the business — from estimating residential removals to managing multi-acre commercial land clearing projects. His approach is built on three principles: safety first, clean work, and honest pricing. James is personally involved in every quote and stays accessible to every customer — homeowners, general contractors, and property managers alike. When he's not at a job site, you'll find him around the Beavercreek community where North Woods has been based for nearly four decades.
